JUNE ARTWALK 6.16.2012
3.14 (9602 16th Ave SW): James Arnold- ~ James paints primarily on recycled canvas and pegboard. He suggests an original pegboard may be the perfect Fathers Day Gift you're looking for... And for the perfect gift for yourself, indulge in a 3.14 'CAKE-BALL'. The peanut butter cake-ball dipped in dark chocolate might possibly be the edible art favorite of the month. Artwalk tastes great!
Big Al Brewing (9832 14th Avenue SW): Student Art ~ Big Al's is brewing brew AND art! So while wetting your whistle, whistle a WOW over the photographic art of our local students, two of whom received The Select
ribbon for their photos in the Washington State High School Photography
Competition. Visual Arts Teacher Sarah
Cliff-Roberston proudly states, "There were over 4,000 entries from
schools around the state, including work from students that have taken
photography courses for years."
Café Rozella (9434 Delridge Way SW): Marc Samuelsson ~ exhibits photographs taken on eastern Europea film in Phnon Penh and countryside. Living with and among the people, Marc captures moments of life on the other side of the planet. Thank you, Rozella's, our 'touch of French' countryside art-cafe, for bringing a touch of the East to White Center.
Company (9608 16th SW): Lily Warner ~ Well, well, Lily's photographic diversity takes her from weddings to Seattle's semi-pro wrestlers. So ditch the wedding rehearsal and come in for your favorite drink...or try something new...follow Lily's example and branch out. Add some fritters or a slider....you certainly won't need to wrestle one of those down!
Dubsea (9910 8th Ave SW): Erika
Rier ~ is a fine artist and dressmaker whose work represents a mish-mash of dreams,
daily life, books read, and music listened to. She works primarily in ink with
splashes of gouache color.
Dzul Tattoo (9622-B 16th Ave SW): Katie & Alex ~ Black & White Photography. Drop

Herbal Legends-Medical Marijuana Dispensary (9619 16th Ave SW): Devrim Ozkan ~ One of White Center's favorites, brings her own legend in paint and ink to the window and walls of 9619. Salvadorean Bakery (1719 SW Roxbury): "Outsider Artists" ~ is the new kid on the block in the arena of art genres, but as old as the hills, or caves, in terms of production. It is raw, unprocessed art created by people untouched by artistic culture. These artists are primarily local artists with disabilities who obsessively create whatever comes into their heads! "Faces of Community" is curated by ArtAbility Faire. And to balance the outsider art you can make your insides happy with a delicious Chile Relleno, the Salvadorean Father's day Special!
