APRIL ARTWALK  4.21.2012

3.14 (9602 16th Ave SW): Kathryn Gooding- ~ www.katherinegooding.com One of Kathryn's photos might paint a thousand pictures.  She can make anything look spectacular!  Come in and see for yourself.... And to celebrate Spring indulge in a gorgeous slice of fresh strawberry pie topped with a dollop of whipped cream.  Spring tastes lovely!

Big Al Brewing (9832 14th Avenue SW): Art by 179 ~ Angelina Villalobos combines environment and folklore in an attempt to understand religion, culture & family structure in modern society.   Stop by for the art and a brew.  So Satisfying!
Café Rozella (9434 Delridge Way SW): "Outsider Artists" – Come check the all NEW Café Rozella you'll feel like you just stepped into the French countryside.   Café Rozella just celebrated their 7th Anniversary in White Center - CONGRATULATIONS!

Company (9608 16th SW): Scott Grigg~ Illustrates  "Social Commentary & Political Actions" with wit and perspective.   Come in, deliberate over art, initiate a discussion, revel in a sip, gulp, or a whole meal.  But how to chose among the myriad offerings is challenging....chickpea fries, cod fritters, mmmm.  You'll be glad you're there to choose.

Dubsea (9910 8th Ave SW): Nathan Brend ~ Uses photography to explore the Great Northwest.  His focal eye captures the view as both a tourist and local resident...seeing something for the first time and rediscovering the awe in seeing anew what we encounter everyday.  

Dzul Tattoo (9622-B 16th Ave SW): Katie & Alex ~ Black & White Photography.  Drop in for funky grooves and an eye-full of new body ink. Updated B&W photos of the newest generation of ink, dripping with permanence.  This shop has spirit and enough eye-candy to chew on for days.

Full Tilt Ice Cream (9629 16th Ave SW): HN Huling ~ Black & White Photography.  Heather says, "I've always found tremendous beauty and grace in the elements most people refer to as "the simple things in life'; the visual and mathematical complexity of plants, seemingly simple emotions expressed on an animal's face or the awe-inspiring views from a cabin window anywhere in the Great Northwest".   When you walk in your nose will tell your taste buds who will tell your conscience to tilt the scales in favor of a flavor of freshly made ice cream to savor!

Herbal Legends-Medical Marijuana Dispensary (9619 16th Ave SW): Jenna Colby ~  Jenna has a knack for making her paintings seep inside of YOU for a closer look. Devrim observes that "It always feels a bit like precious moments meets the dark side or sweet, sweet love meets reality".  Peruse the other art, enjoy some music, shoot a game of pool.  It's legend!

Proletariat Pizza – (9622-A 16th Ave SW)- Michael Lowe ~  Microcosm/Macrocosm....you decide what your frame of reference will be as you explore with Michael the ambiguity of space and "story."  Michael works on the elemental level using texture, space, color, shape and balance.  Stop in for your own elemental exploration to which we highly recommend adding some provolone, asiago, gorgonzola and mozzarella cheeses with sauces and pepperoni and......your choice next!

Salvadorean Bakery (1719 SW Roxbury):  Stephen Bersig ~   Stephen has an eye any camera would fight to be in front of.  Marvel at the photo moments Stephen has captured.  Enjoy also the Bakery ArtWalk specials as well as their ever delicious Pupusas, Tamales, and other favorites.  By the by, the spelling of 'heaven' has been changed to Tres Leche Cake
THE FORGE: TILTON, BALABAN & MCCALLISTER (9052 Delridge Way): Matthew Tilton –Forge, Eric Balaban-Fabrication. They’ve thrown into the –art walk- mix Mutant Bicycle construction every 3rd Saturday from 12-6pm. Come build your own recycled bicycle!

Southgate Roller Rink (9646 17th Ave SW): We have a second round of SCULPTURES de ROLLER SKATES being unveiled in May!  Mark your calendar and plan on rolling out with us on May 16 for an evening of 'characteristic' FUN on wheels! ! 

Zippy’s Giant Burgers (9614 14th Ave SW): Nathan Brend ~ is using his photography to create windows around White Center which explore the Great Northwest.  Focus your lens as though you've never seen the Space Needle before...change the light...the angle...the distance.  AWE-ha!  Beautiful!  And the palate is ever in AWE savoring a bacon, bleu cheese burger with sweet p'tater fries!
